Just wondering because sometimes stuff ends up in junk in hotmail that shouldnt. i think ive caught most of it now, but probably not all of it. Id much prefer to forward everything to gmail and have the junk filter there deal with it!

Why are jpg pictures in body of email page (yahoo hotmail gmail) not displayed a few times without reason?
On fairly rare occasions received emails with jpg pictures which should be displayed in body of the email appear as small squares with a red x in them and with their file names and no reason is given. The pictures of such emails cannot be seen in Yahoo Mail or Hotmail or Gmail or even sometimes in Windows Mail (of Vista). Sometimes they can be viewed if you open the attachments one at a time when they should all appear in the body of the email page. My computer has Vista Home Premium. I had identical email problem with my old computer with XP and IE6. For some strange reason most of the blocked jpg pictures are innocent religious pictures. Most adult porn pictures can be seen without any difficulty. No reason for blocking and a way for unblocking is given.

Since then, Yahoo and Hotmail have also implemented the same features to their own email systems. Gmail is owned by Google, Yahoo by Yahoo and Hotmail by MSN.
I personally like Yahoo the best, especially the new Yahoo Beta version, it's clean interface with its drag and drop features (from one folder to another) is very easy and functional. Gmail would be next cause it has little advertisements which makes it the fastest by far. Hotmail is probably one of the worst due to its limited storage capacity, the abundance of junk mails I've encountered there and its heavy graphics....and you need to login to Hotmail once a month, which I thought is a pain in the ****.

I have 3 accounts, all on yahoo, and they work for what I need.
It has been about 2 years since I have used Hotmail, and AOL is just full of bad memories with high bills so I do not know.
The only way to get G-mail is for someone that has it to invite you.
Just remember the Google motto. "Do not be evil" They try to have the best products, and with what people want, without all the stupid ads, even in searches, they tell you which ones people paid for ("sponsored searches") instead of mixing them in with the real results like yahoo, Ask, msn and the others do.

I have 3 accounts, all on yahoo, and they work for what I need.
It has been about 2 years since I have used Hotmail, and AOL is just full of bad memories with high bills so I do not know.
The only way to get G-mail is for someone that has it to invite you.
Just remember the Google motto. "Do not be evil" They try to have the best products, and with what people want, without all the stupid ads, even in searches, they tell you which ones people paid for ("sponsored searches") instead of mixing them in with the real results like yahoo, Ask, msn and the others do.

Yahoo Email simply sucks, the only good feature it has is NOTEPAD. I prefer Yahoo Messenger to MSN though.

i'm getting an iPhone tommarow, and i understand you cannot use hotmail under the mail widget since its not POP or IMAP email. So i setup a gmail account in the hopes that there is someway i can foward (or redirect) my hotmail email into my gmail account. is this possible?

Why does Hotmail & Gmail say that "cookies are blocked" when there definitely are not?
I have my Privacy set to "accept all cookies" and turned off all firewalls, but Hotmail %26amp; Gmail STILL say "cookies are blocked" and will not let me into their sites.

You turning off ALL firewalls presents two problems
A) You shouldn't need more than one good firewall
B) and more importantly, You should never disable your firewall
So the fact that you are having a problem getting onto sites and you have disabled your security would lead me to believe that you probably have some infection.
I suggest you ensure that you have a complete security suite (antivirus, firewall, antispyware, etc) from a reliable vendor (like mcafee, norton, kaspersky, etc... not freeware) and that they are properly configured, enabled, and automatically updating.. and then once you are sure they are completely up to date and you're all rebooted... I suggest you turn off any running programs and perform a complete scan of your computer.

My "big sib" at my school reccomended gmail over hotmail for me recently. i use Windows Live/Hotmail mainly because it has a desktop client so I don't have to login online and so messages stay on my computer. Hotmail doesn't offer POP access but Javed uses IzyMail to enable Hotmail POP and then get the messages using the Gmail Fetcher. Great for anyone still hanging onto that old Hotmail account for some crazy reason.

So, if you want all your email in one place, you can forward your gmail to your hotmail account. gmail DOES allow forwarding. Get on gmail and forward ITS email to your hotmail address. Yep, this probably won't solve your problem. Best bet is probably to bite the bullet and tough everything through, and change all the things that depend on knowing your hotmail address, so's they now know your gmail address instead, and STICK with gmail.

You know Microsoft the company trying to monopolize everything. Since Gmail is associated with Google and Google is part of Microsoft you should be able to Forward it. However finding the button to do that is the challenge. The downside is you might have to pay for that service. I don't know what to tell you.

It depends where you have your Yahoo account. Yahoo Italy allows POP3 access for free. In the US of A it's a premium feature as far as I remember and you need to sign up for this premium service.
Or you could just use a third-party software that downloads your Yahoo mails (via http), stores them on your computer and forwards it to Google. (Yahoo Pops is the name as far as I remember...). There are several software products out there. Some for free, some cost money.
For WL Hotmail... download the Windows Live Hotmail software to your computer. The newest version allows the download of Hotmail messages to your local computer. Create a second account (imap4) for google and try to move your messages to Gmail.
I know it's a real bad solution, but it's probably the only way. Or just forward your Gmail to your Yahoo Mail %26amp; Hotmail account ;)

I hate hotmail and livemail and aolmail. And is there any type's of email server things besides the ones you named? I know here there is pioneer att and microsoft outlook but I don't like any of those. I like to email using yahoo and IM using Windows Live =]

How do I filter/stop spam from entering my email if I am using my own email server (NOT hotmail, yahoo, gmail)
I want to keep the email that I've been using for 4 years, but I need to now block the spam that is coming in each day. I want to continue to recieve my friends and family emails. I have my own server and so I can't benefit from yahoo, hotmail and gmail anti-spam tecnology. PLEASE HELP!

If you are using unix/linux as the mail server use SpamAssassin. I have configured this a number of times for large sites and it works pretty well. It will not catch 100%, but it will help. There are a bunch of addons that you can configure with it.
From there, Grey Listing got rid of another 90% off the mail that SpamAssassin missed. It is very simple to setup.
You should also install ClamAv for anti virus protection.
Both can be installed with yum or you can simply download the rpm(s) and install them.

I think you could have all your hotmail forwarded automatically to your gmail account and then filter it. I may try that hotmail is a pain - no pop3.

Depending on the hotmail account you have, if you goto your options you should have the ability to forward incoming e-mail messages to another e-mail address.
If it is not there it is a Premium only feature.

Have you tried going on the firefox website and doing a search under add-ons? I know that there was an add-on that will allow you to be notified when you have new messages without opening each one. For yahoo, there is an add-on that allows you to open each message without actually having to open then separately (AJAX Yahoo Mail). There are so many and add-ons are always being added. My suggestion would to be do a search and then pick the best one for you. Good luck!

Outlook does have a comfirmation, you have to go to tools and set it up, you can even tell it the you want a receipt that the email has been read.

In the end I do like yahoo, because of messenger and it is the best. They just need to get their act together.

the free version of hotmail does not let you redirect mails to others you need to have the paid version. Looked for it until I heard it from a friend that had the paid version. You can sent gmail to hotmail but not the other way.

Since a couple of days, I'm having problem connection to gmail, hotmail, yahoo mail and facebook?
I tried to use Firefox (on safe mode) and Internet Explorer, however, these particular sites does not seem to load (hotmail and facebook are loading but they are not letting me login). The error message is always "The server at login.yahoo.com is taking too long to respond." I'm also using the Gmail Notifier addon on firefox and it can't connect to my accounts. Does anybody have the same problem?

I don't think the site you are joining does not accept gmail and the others. Infact the inverse is true. Gmail and the others might have been flagging the site as a spam or scam site thats why they block emails from it forever and as such the site now ask its users to use other emails and do not use gmails.

See the link I posted below. I found this site and it looks to be like fairly good directions on howto accomplish this task. The key is going to be a REDIRECT instead of a forward. The website says you should POP you hotmail into eudora (capable of redirects) then use its redirect function to send your mail to gmail. Check out that site for more detailed instructions.

Now although yahoo does that too, Gmail has steped further by making these cool back grounds for your email that are not only cool but also tell you the wether condition in your area through their nice drawings. It got easier reply and farwarding techniques than those of the yahoo.
I think hotmail is the worst cuz it dones't do anything but serving as an ordinary mail of only inbox-outbox-forward- and reply.

Honestly, I prefer Gmail because I can get pop access for free. Yahoo used to do that until they started charging for it.

.Below, we will detail how to setup Microsoft Office Outlook 2000 or higher to send, receive and store email messages for a Gmail address. Before getting started, please make sure you know your Gmail email address and your Gmail password.
Start Outlook: from the main Outlook window, go to Tools -%26gt; Email Accounts.
On the Outlook popup window, select to "Add a new e-mail account" and click on Next.
On the server type step, select POP3 for the Outlook email account type, then click on Next. There is no need to select the IMAP type, because the Gmail web based account will anyway keep a copy of all emails, just like an IMAP account would do.
On the next screen, you will have to specify your Outlook Gmail settings, such as your Gmail username and password, Gmail server addresses, Gmail server ports and Outlook Gmail display name.

To verify your Outlook Gmail setup, click on the "Test Account Settings" button: this will make Outlook to attempt to login to your Gmail account and to send %26amp; receive an Outlook test email. If the test will succeed, you will notice the test email in your Outlook Inbox folder. Configuring Outlook 2003 to Work with Your Hotmail Account
Once you have a Hotmail account that will work with Outlook, follow these steps to configure the Hotmail Microsoft Outlook connection:
In the Outlook main menu, click Tools, then E-mail Accounts. This launches the E-mail Accounts wizard.
Select Add a new e-mail account, then click Next.
Select HTTP, then click Next.
In the HTTP Mail Service Provider box, select Hotmail.
Fill in the Your Name field.
Enter your full Hotmail mail address (including the "@hotmail.com") in the E-mail Address field. When you do, that information automatically appears in the User Name field as well.
Enter your Hotmail password in the Password field.
Set the Remember password checkbox so Outlook can check your Hotmail account without you having to manually enter your password each time it tries.
Make sure that the Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) box is not set.
click Next, then Finish.
When you are done configuring Outlook, press CTRL-1 to go to the Mail view.
Next press F9 to send and receive all mail. This sets up Hotmail folders and downloads messages. Seeing the Hotmail folders in your Navigation Pane will show that you were able to successfully configure Outlook for Hotmail.
Outlook and Hotmail are now talking to each other properly. The Hotmail Outlook configuration is now complete.
Close this window to return to the page you came from, or use the menu on the left to navigate to a different section of Living With Outlook.

Once you empty your trash bin, it is gone. If you have Yahoo though, it can track down any deleted message. Yahoo! has a new feature that can save deleted mail. hotmail, or gmail does not have that feature. when you sign into yahoo, there is an icon at the bottom of the new version, and you can get back any deleted message. isnt that cool?

any cellphones, not Blackberry only can be able to receive and send emails IF your provider/carrier allows you to do (as there is a charge using for that kind of service). so better check it out from your carrier if you can use that service.
*the charge will be billed thru your cellphone. you will only pay the usage. no emails, no pay. you sent, you pay. internet charge is different too. (but this is all depend on your provider)

With Hotmail you need to subscribe to their addtional service to allow pop access. Through Hotmail pop access is chargeable (or it is in the U.K).
Blackberrys can be purchased unlocked so not latched to any provider although you will require a networks SIM to use the services.
