Gmail provides unique features that are not avilable with other mail service providers. For Eg:





* Free POP Account - with this you can configure google in your outlook. Various options avilable like "Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded)","Enable POP only for mail that arrives from now on" etc





* Send Mail As - From Gmail you send email from your other email Addresses.


But yahoo provides a superb feature here, You can receive emails from other email account (one pop account only). Yahoo scores better here.





* Labels - This is my favourite feature. You dont need to create folders to store emails. Instead of that you can tag your emails with more than one label and can search based on those labels.


To put in a different way, you can store your emails in more than one folder. It may seem stange at first time, but believe me it is really useful %26amp; great.





* Filters - Both yahoo and gmail provides filters, and moving those filtered mail to folders. But gmail provides an option to forward the filtered email to different mail id, this is not provided by yahoo. If you are imaginative, you can use this feature in many ways.





* Show Snippet : you can view the snippet of an email without opening it, like in google web search.





* Personal Level Indicators





* 2.6 GB of disk space for your account





* Vacation Responders - Yahoo %26amp; google both provider this facility. But yahoo provide option to configure time vacation duration in which the vacation responder will be active.





* Cool look, easy to use - No one can match gmail here..





* Gmail is Fast when comparing to yahoo or hotmail. This is my personal opinion.





* Archive - I dont like messy inbox..With Gmail's archieve feature I can skip the inbox for mails that I read.





* Less Advertisement





* You can search your email like the way you search web on google.





* Autosave - Yes.. If anything goes wrong (Crash, restart etc), you dont need to lose the content you typed for your loved one for hours.. With "AutoSave" feature in Gmail, it is secured in your compose mail section.

Reply:I think Gmail is better than Yahoo. Maybe at this time Gmail don't have many features like Yahoo but they will have more in the future. Also, Gmail services is faster than Yahoo.
Reply:I have to say Yahoo is the best as they are always improving their service and offering new services while others try to catch it. The only setback was when google entered the market with their gmail and offered 2 GB but Yahoo still offered a generous 1GB plus a lot better service user interface for those of you who did not try Yahoo! beta mail I recommend that you do so by clicking on what's new and submit your email

Reply:If I had a quicker internet connection and computer, I would probably like gmail the best, but it simply takes too long to load now and then will sometimes freeze if I leave the window open. Between Yahoo! and Hotmail, I'd go with Yahoo! because it filters out junk mail much better for me and also loads quicker.
