How secure is what I sent through email such as Gmail, Yahoo! or Hotmail?
It is read by their software. Attachments also. Google puts up adds that they think are appropriate given the email content.





So the question is do you trust these companies?





With Regards to whether other entities (people/govt/companies) can access your mail, that type of security I feel is pretty good. The govt can always subpoena email, and Google etc, will comply.





If you are concerned about the company's access, then you need to encrypt your email, and not use the web browser interface.
