A friend of mine had a number of important messages in hotmail. She didn't check her account for more than one month, and now all the messages have been deleted. What type of rubbish service is this?
Does gmail do the same thing?
Is gmail more reliable than hotmail for keeping messages?
how much does she pay for this service?
nothing?
well, what's the problem?
there are quite a lot of folks that don't like hotmail.
for one thing, hotmail sells email addresses, and their lists are responsible for 90+% of all the spam you get.
certainly, any free service is not required to not delete your mail.
if they think you're gone, why should they waste their space.
however, google is better.
Reply:Gmail keeps your emails until you delete them yourself. There are two cases when emails are deleted automatically after 30 days:
- messages in Trash
- spam
It is, however, easy to delete emails by accident, if you don't know the Gmail basics. I've linked a knol page on this topic below.
Reply:I've had gmail for a while now, and I don't use anything else. I haven't had a problem like that yet, but then again I check my Email often, just like everyone should
