I've been surfing the web for this add-on in firefox but without success. Help needed.

I haven't tried this one for a while because I have Incredimail, but you can give it a try. Its free and you can use it for different accounts. 'Poptray3'
Reply:There are a few of them, but the setup I use is letting Thunderbird let me know when I have new mail (it makes a sound).

Yes, you can get gmail, yahoo and hotmail in Thunderbird - with add-ons (it's very easy, and doesn't require you to pay for POP3 access)
